Ohmniversum was made for Alliander, a Dutch net operator. The game puts the players in the roles of the net operator, its clients and an energy supplier.
During the game the players have to run not only the net operator, but also govern the city, agricultural area and the local industry. All the while they have to deal with the energy transition (decentralised energy production) without breaking the power network.
The challenge is becoming green without putting too much strain on the network.
But perhaps best thing about Ohmniversum is its automated supply and demand solution, which were made by protoproto. These little devices communicate their values to one another and check whether the system has enough capacity to handle the demand for energy.
